Carnival Dream

2022-10-22 to 2022-11-05 Galveston to Panama

The Team

This was the first cruise where I had a lot of my friends and relatives along for the ride. Something about they all wanted to travel over Halloween. So, from left to right - The Good Pumpkin (he's not that great), Victoria, Vincent, (late) Uncle Frank, me, Captain Bob.  After the cruise, I decided Captain Bob was the least annoying, but that's not much of an accomplishment.

The Cruise

This was a fun cruise - it was one of the longest I have done, but it was also one of the most relaxing. It was a great mix of sea days and ports, with a visit to Panama and an excursion through some of the locks in the old canal. It was a Carnival Journey cruise, so a bit longer than most, which means a bit older crowd than most.

Panama Canal

I have now been through some of the locks in the Panama Canal. We took a bus ride to Gamboa dock, and then went in a small ferry through two sets of locks (Pedro Miguel Locks and Miraflores Locks) to the Pacific Ocean. The locks are pretty impressive. After circling in the Pacific, we disembarked and took a bus back to Colon. The bus ride was faster, but there was much more traffic.
