Carnival Jubilee

2025-02-06 to 2025-02-15 Galveston to Western Caribbean

This was a cruise of firsts - we called on Roatan, Honduras, but instead of docking at Coxen Hole where other cruise lines go, we visited Mahogany Bay, Carnival's private port. It's nice, but one of my hosts (I do need to learn their names some day) was scooter-bound, so we didn't go too far. We just went far enough to eat and have a beer, so that's actually far enough.

The other first was our call on Costa Maya ("Costa Maybe") which was canceled after we had been docked for a couple of hours. There was a Royal ship with us in port and our Captain said they were leaving and he would re-assess after they left, but they had one or two passengers they couldn't find, so about 10am, our Captain decided to sail. So, we had a day at sea, instead.

In Cozumel, we docked at Carnival's pier, so we didn't have to travel very far to go to Los Cinco Soles for shopping (ick) and Pancho's Backyard for lunch (yum).

While we were in Los Cinco Soles, Santa managed to bump into his cousin Pancho, who decided to finish the cruise with us. So, someone else to give me some time off from the photography duties. Uncle Herman joined us as well - he likes a Highland Smash from the Alchemy Bar. I will stick with an Old Fashioned. Also, I hate ducks.
